Historic Hinsch's in Bay Ridge to reopen with new owners

BAY RIDGE - After the historic Hinsch's restaurant in Bay Ridge recently closed when the last owners retired, many residents thought a special piece of the community was gone forever. However, new owners are making sure the restaurant makes a return.

Rodger Desmond, Gerrard Bell and Billy Gardella say they won't change what made the place famous. "The same ice cream, waffles. Everything this place was famous for will be here plus more," says Desmond.

The restaurant had been open for nearly a century.

The new owners say customers won't have to wait long for their favorite dishes at Hinsch?s since they plan on reopening on Nov. 28.
