BROOKLYN - Police say an arrest has been made in the hit-and-run of a 6-year-old boy in Brooklyn.

Armando Mino, 53, of Brooklyn, surrendered to police at the 66th Precinct Wednesday afternoon.

He is facing second-degree assault charges and leaving the scene of an accident.

The boy was injured after crossing the street near Fort Hamilton Parkway and 41st Street two weeks ago.

Police say Mino was driving a black Toyota minivan when it ran a red light and struck the boy.

The boy suffered a broken hand and foot, but is expected to be OK.
