BROOKLYN - A witness who owns the home where slain Detective Peter Figoski was shot and killed testified today in the trial of Lamont Pride.

Carlos Feliciano teared up as he discussed seeing Figoski after he was shot. Feliciano testified that he had heard a heated argument in his basement apartment, which he believed to be a robbery, before the shooting.

According to prosecutors, Lamont Pride gunned down Figoski during a botched robbery in Cypress Hills back in December 2011. Pride has plead not guilty, stating the shooting was an accident.

Detectives who investigated the scene of the crime on the day of the shooting also testified. The detectives brought photos from their investigation, including shots of marijuana found in the basement where the botched robbery took place.

Accused getaway driver Michael Velez is also on trial, but has a separate jury. The jury assigned to Pride will be back in court Tuesday morning. The judge expects them to issue a verdict by Wednesday. Velez's jury is expected to reach a verdict by next week.

Both Pride and Velez could face life sentences if convicted.
