Hospital program draws on artists' talents

WILLIAMSBURG - New mothers in Williamsburg say they are grateful that a unique program offered by a local hospital has allowed them to get portraits of their newborns.

Woodhull Medical Center is allowing uninsured artists to earn credits for medical procedures if they volunteer their talents at the hospital.

More than 600 artists have participated in the program since it began in 2005.
