BROOKLYN - The Taxi and Limousine Commission says 750 summonses have been handed out since the start of a ban on cell phone use for all cab drivers while on the road.

The new rules went into effect in January, garnering mixed reactions. The rule bans all forms of electronic communication, including cell phones and Bluetooth devices.

The rules are meant to increase safety, the TLC says.
