PROSPECT HEIGHTS - The second annual Brooklyn BEAT Festival opened Thursday night and the stage was rocking.

Hundreds gathered for the start of the event, which showcases 20 performances across four different neighborhoods with dancing, theatre and voice artists.

The festival runs through Sept. 21.
