BROOKLYN - Hundreds of new jobs are on the way to the borough thanks to new development at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced hiring commitments for more than 300 local residents as a new museum opens just in time for Veterans Day today.

The museum explores the shipbuilding history of the yard and is the biggest expansion since World War II.
