BROOKLYN - Hundreds of mermaids will be marching through Coney Island in the 31st annual Mermaid Parade tomorrow.

The parade will start Saturday at 1 p.m. on Surf Avenue.

Staff members at the Juilliard School in Manhattan are working away at their float for tomorrow’s Mermaid parade.

Kate Dale will ride the float as a mermaid princess. The theme of Juilliard School’s float is “Defeating and Recovering from Superstorm Sandy.”

Dale says, “Sandy will be represented by a five-headed sea-beast hydra thing, and I will be vanquishing it with my trident.”

Dale and Juilliard staff aren’t the only ones looking forward to the parade. Brooklyn residents say they can’t wait for the neighborhood celebration.
