ALBANY - Hundreds of New York City parents from all five boroughs made the journey to Albany today to attend rallies on two different educational issues.

Parents joined Gov. Andrew Cuomo at a rally for more resources for city charter schools. They also spoke out against Mayor Bill de Blasio's recent plan to evict three charter schools from public school buildings.

At another Albany rally, parents supported de Blasio and his plan for universal pre-K and extended after-school programs. De Blasio is proposing a tax hike on the wealthy to pay for the education initiatives, though Cuomo and other lawmakers reject the idea.
