BROOKLYN - Members of the Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy kicked off their 25th anniversary today at Borough Hall.

Ifetayo recently had the distinction of receiving the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program award, an honor for after-school programming.

First Lady Michelle Obama presented the award to the academy at the White House just before the holidays.

The cultural program supports creative, educational, and vocational development among young Brooklyn residents of African-American descent.

Ifetayo is also celebrating a new, huge space with multiple dance studios in the center of Flatbush.
