BROOKLYN - IHOP dished out its famous short stacks at no cost, all in an effort to give back to the communities it serves Tuesday. 

The restaurant chain is celebrating its National Pancake Day for another year, offering free buttermilk pancakes in the hopes that guests will consider leaving a donation in return. 

The money this year will be used to support the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, with the goal being to raise $3 million nationwide. 

IHOP says it's raised $13 million since starting the tradition in 2006.
