BROOKLYN - Incumbent Charles Hynes is back in the race for Brooklyn district attorney.

Hynes had previously said he would not campaign after Ken Thompson won the Democratic nomination during the primary in September.

Some Brooklyn residents say they are ready for a change after so many years with Hynes in the position.

Hynes has been the Brooklyn DA for more than 20 years. He was endorsed by the Republican party and his name will be on the Republican ticket in November.

News 12 reached out to Hynes' office for comment but has not yet heard back.
