BROOKLYN - The basketball team at Long Island University Brooklyn is coming off an unprecedented three straight northeast conference championships.

Head Coach Jack Perri sat down with News 12 Brooklyn during a preseason interview, in which he discussed the loss of part of the team to graduation and injury.

Brooklyn's star forward Julian Boyd tore his ACL in September. Perri said that his heart sank for Julian when he heard the news.

"He was doing great, he was on pace to be ready to play and then go get that news," said Perri.

The team was picked sixth in one preseason poll. Perri said that with the new group, the team has to work on getting better every day and hopefully, as they get to January and February, they will start getting better and have some success in the league.

News 12 Brooklyn will have more on this preseason conversation next week.
