Investigator recalls Mineo statement in detail

BROOKLYN - The lead investigator in the alleged sexual assault of a Brooklyn man by a police officer testified Thursday.

The investigator, part of the NYPD's Internal Affairs Unit, recalled in detail Michael Mineo's statement, describing how he was allegedly sodomized by Officer Richard Kern in a Brooklyn subway.

During the testimony, the investigator said Mineo claimed he was also Tasered. According to the investigator, NYPD officers don't carry Tasers.

Kern is charged with aggravated sexual abuse and assault. He is on trial with officers Alex Cruz and Andrew Morales, who are accused of covering up the attack. They are charged with hindering prosecution and official misconduct.
