BROOKLYN - Italian-American families will celebrate the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes Tuesday on Christmas Eve.

The celebration commemorates the wait for the midnight birth of Jesus Christ.

Vinny Cutrone, owner of Octopus Garden in Gravesend, had a very busy day Monday supplying his customers with all types of seafood for the occasion.

"They want their seven or eight or even more fish,” he said. “Whatever they see that is unusual, they want it.”

Catrone says he has many repeat customers from the area, but that shoppers come from visiting states the two days before Christmas.
