BROOKLYN - A police chase on foot landed a Brooklyn man in handcuffs for alleged possession of an illegal gun.

The NYPD says Srgt. Larry Meyers and officer Katherine Tejada were called to the Ebbets Field Houses to investigate a reported shooting. They were able to identify and pursue the suspect, Jabari Cummings, after seeing surveillance video from the scene.

Officers caught up with the 23-year-old in his apartment, and say that a gun was found stashed away in bushes nearby.

Cummings faces a charge of criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
