BROOKLYN - A bicyclist was struck and killed by a truck in Brooklyn on Wednesday, according to police.

The crash happened at the intersection of Sterling Place and Sixth Avenue in Park Slope around 8 a.m.

Police say 33-year-old James Gregg was traveling southbound on Sixth Avenue alongside a commercial delivery truck when he collided with the rear wheel of the truck.

A witness says they heard the truck driver slam on the brakes, but it was too late and the bicyclist was pulled underneath the wheel.

Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
