BROOKLYN - Two Brooklyn bikers allegedly involved in the attack of an SUV driver on West Highway faced a judge yesterday.

The case has grabbed national attention after the video captured went viral. In total, seven people have been charged in connection to the case, including an off-duty police officer.

James Kuehne, 31, appeared in court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to charges of gang assault, assault and criminal mischief. He was released on a $200,000 bond.

Robert Sims, 35, was indicted last night, but the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has not released which charges he has been indicted on. After the hearing, Sims' lawyer said his client was not involved in the actual attack.

Police say the motorcyclists were driving recklessly and one of them quickly slowed down in front of SUV driver Alexian Lien. After Lien's car bumped the biker's rear tire, the group allegedly surrounded his vehicle. He then took off, running into three of the bikers.

Investigators say the motorcyclists continued to chase Lien and eventually caught up to him. They then allegedly dragged him out of his car, kicking and hitting him.

Lien suffered a number of non-life threatening injuries. One of the bikers was seriously injured and may never walk again.

The SUV driver's wife and daughter were in the car when it all unfolded and were unharmed. The investigation is still ongoing.
