FLATBUSH - A Brooklyn artist is mapping out the borough using trash - and only trash.

Jennifer Maravillas is putting together a 10X10 collage of Brooklyn using garbage she found scouring the streets. The project, titled "71 Square Miles" in honor of the borough's estimated size, also includes text that highlights local culture.

Maravillas says she began building the map back in February 2012.

She adds that the trash she collects is beautiful as it contributes to a larger whole.
