CROWN HEIGHTS - Nearly 30,000 people gathered in Crown Heights this afternoon to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Lag BaOmer with a parade.

Parade attendees say the holiday marks the passing of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, whose teachings encouraged unity and love.

In light of the bombings in Boston, this year's parade saw a larger police patrol, with officers on every street corner and moving through the crowd.
