BROOKLYN - A local human rights group is saying refugees are welcome in the borough with a poster campaign aimed at increasing acceptance of Muslims.

The Jewish Voice for Peace group created a poster showing a man and young child bundled in his coat underneath the phrase, "Refugees are welcome here." Organizers say it is a stand against anti-immigrant discourse around the country.

Businesses around the borough have been displaying the poster.

The posters were first put up in December and are currently visible around New York, North Carolina, Oregon and Washington, D.C.
