Job fair for vets held at Brooklyn Borough Hall

BROOKLYN - A job fair for local veterans was held at Brooklyn Borough Hall today.The event was sponsored by the non-profit group Services for the Underserved. Veterans had the chance to learn about employment opportunities, housing, health and legal services.Potential employers collected a number of resumes from the vets and also helped them translate military training into civilian skills for their resumes.Organizers say the unemployment rate among veterans is more than 12 percent, while the average rate across Brooklyn is about 10 percent.
