Judge tosses juror in Mineo case

BROOKLYN - The judge in the Mineo case removed a juror from the trial on Friday.Juror number six was removed after she reportedly told the rest of the jury of rumors she had heard about past police brutality cases involving the cop accused of sodomizing Michael Mineo.

Officer Richard Kern is accused of sodomizing Mineo with his baton after Mineo was allegedly seen smoking marijuana. Officers Andrew Morales and Alex Cruz are charged with trying to cover up the alleged abuse.

A replacement juror was brought in, bringing the new total to six men and six women to decide the fate of the three officers.
