Kareem Potomont charged in shooting that injured 2 in Bushwick

BROOKLYN - A 21-year-old man has been charged in a shooting that wounded two, including a 13-year-old boy.

Police say Kareem Potomont opened fire on a busy street in Flatbush Monday, shooting a 24-year-old in the leg. Police believe he was the intended target.

Another bullet struck 13-year-old Gamma Droiville in the head as he waited for a bus with his aunt and cousin.

Police officers visited Droiville at Kings County Hospital Thursday and presented him with a medal. His family says officers came back Friday to bring him pizza.

Droiville remains hospitalized, and his parents tell News 12 Brooklyn he may have lost his sight in one eye.

Droiville's family says they are thankful that the NYPD caught the suspect, preventing him from harming other people.

Potomont is facing two counts of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
