BROOKLYN - An arrest has been made in the all-terrain vehicle hit-and-run of an NYPD officer last weekend.
Police say 31-year-old Kenny Ortiz, of Queens, was arrested and charged in the hit-and-run. He is facing charges that include attempted murder of a police officer, assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon and reckless driving.
Two officers pulled Ortiz over last Sunday in East New York, but he took off as they got closer, hitting one of the officers in the leg and dragging him almost 200 feet. The officer suffered a broken nose and vertebrae.
