BROOKLYN - A program run by the Food Bank for New York City has a unique approach to educating children about healthy eating.

The Food Bank's "Eatwise" program made a stop Tuesday at the P.S. 186 day camp in Bensonhurst. Instead of listening to adults talk about how to live fit and healthy lifestyles, campers listened to instructors who are close to their ages.

"They can talk to and relate to each other, peer to peer."

Eatwise is teaching kids what their plates should look like - full of fruits, grains, vegetables and protein - with the idea to improve eating habits one child at a time.
