BROOKLYN - Kings County Hospital and The Health And Hospitals Corporation are providing bilingual counselors to help people who still need to apply for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

The counselors at Kings County Hospital speak English, Spanish, Russian, French, Creole and Hindi.  A language line phone call can help clients who speak a rare dialect if the bilingual counselors do not speak or provide a particular dialect.

The language line will translate information that can help certified counselors to better educate clients on the best health insurance options for them under the new law.

The counselors say the free assistance has been vital in signing people up for insurance. Bilingual help is available at the hospital on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday.

The deadline to sign up for coverage is Monday, March 31.
