BROOKLYN - Help is available for residents with mental health issues.

Kings County Hospital is home to the state's first hospital unit designed to treat psychosis in young adults.

The 15-bed inpatient unit will cater to patients 16 to 23 years old who have been diagnosed with illnesses like schizophrenia.

The hospital is also one of four pilot sites for the state's "On Track New York" program.

The program is available for people 16 to 30 years old who have had their first psychotic experiences within the past year.
