BROOKLYN - The Kings Plaza shopping center is requesting that young shoppers be accompanied by an adult after a violent brawl there was captured on cellphone video.

The brawl earlier this week may have been started because of a shirt that one girl was wearing, which allegedly had a derogatory comment about another girl on it. The girls and their friends exchanged words on Facebook, News 12 is told, and planned to meet up at the mall, which is when the fight broke out.

At least one teenager was taken down by a police officer during the rowdy fight. One girl was taken into custody, but no arrests have been made.

News 12 reached out to the mall for comment. A senior marketing manager says the mall is requesting that "minor children have an adult escort into Kings Plaza."
