BROOKYLN - Jury deliberations in the murder trial of Lamont Pride are set to begin on Thursday.

Pride is accused of gunning down Detective Peter Figoski during a botched robbery in Cypress Hills back in December 2011. Pride's defense laid out closing arguments today, calling the shooting an accident.

The prosecution accuses Pride of having his gun cocked and loaded, ready to shoot his way out and kill if necessary.

Pride's trial happened simultaneously as that of alleged getaway driver Michael Velez. Velez's trial will continue with the suspect taking the stand.

If convicted, both Pride and Velez face life in prison.
