Last call for Four Loko fans

BROOKLYN - Controversial energy drink Four Loko is officially banned today and retailers must start getting rid of their stock.

The State Liquor Authority asked distributors to stop delivering Four Loko and other caffeinated cocktails last month amid public health concerns.

A 23.5-ounce can of Four Loko contains the same amount of alcohol as three cans of beer blended with the caffeine of three cups of coffee.

College students have been hospitalized after drinking thebeverages, including the popular Four Loko, and they have beenbanned in four states.
