Lawmakers push for mandatory crossover mirrors on trucks

BROOKLYN - Lawmakers are pushing for large trucks to get crossover mirrors saying they would increase safety on the road.

The mirrors are already required on school buses. They help drivers see anything at least three feet tall and at least one foot away from the front of the vehicle.

The legislation comes after a truck accidentally struck and dragged a Brooklyn boy on a tricycle this May. The driver was not able to see the child.
