BROOKLYN - The City Council held the first of many hearings yesterday to review how the city was prepared following Superstorm Sandy.

The council is looking over how the city responded to issues like food distribution and gas shortages. It is considering ideas including buying more power lines and requiring necessary equipment to be higher off the ground in flood zone areas.

More hearings are expected to held over the next two months.
