Local lawmakers announced a new safe haven law today after the brutal death of an 8-year-old in Brooklyn.

"Leiby's Law," named after Leiby Kletzky, would provide safe havens for those who are lost or need help. Certain stores and buildings would be given a city-issued logo and have employees pass background checks to ensure safety.
