BROOKLYN - Artists and art-lovers flocked to Williamsburg this afternoon to view a large-scale installation that showcased work done by local artists.

The showcase is part of Absolut Vodka's Open Canvas installation along North Sixth Street between Whythe and Kent avenues.

The goal is to promote art in the community while giving emerging artists exposure.

The paintings and posters will stay up permanently, but other art pieces such as crochet work will be on display for about a week.
