Long Island University, professors reach new agreement

BROOKLYN - Officials at Long Island University and professors at the school have come to an agreement over a new contract, ending a strike that kept many students out of class.

The previous contract expired on Aug. 31.

Professors were negotiating on pay and benefits, and say that they did not get everything they asked for in the final agreement.

Some classes may resume at the school this evening, but all classes are expected to resume starting tomorrow.
