BROOKLYN - Police are searching for two sets of suspects who they say are using lottery tickets to trick and rob women in Brooklyn.

According to authorities, a Hispanic man and woman approached an elderly woman in broad daylight last Friday near 39th Street and 4th Avenue in Sunset Park. They say the victim was promised the winnings from a lotto ticket before being robbed of her money and jewelry.

Two sets of sketches have been released of the suspects. The female is believed to be about 50 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. The male is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and heavy set.

Officials say a similar incident also happened on June 11 on 46th Street and 4th Avenue involving another older woman and two Hispanic males. Those suspects are described as being about 40 years old.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800 577 TIPS.
