BROOKLYN - Luna Park, a new amusement park in Coney Island, will open just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The grand opening is Saturday at the former Astroland site. This is the second Luna Park to open on the Island. The first opened in 1903 and closed in 1948.

The city spent $96.5 million on the land for the park and operator Alberto Zamperla spent $30 million on rides.
