BROOKLYN - Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today that the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show is making a comeback to the East River this year.

The display was moved to the Hudson River in 2009 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage up to the river.

The decision has since frustrated many Brooklyn business owners who say they have lost money from visitors and tourists. Others say that it should have never left the East River.

De Blasio says that he is thrilled that after years of working with Macy's and others to make it a reality, the fireworks will be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge and barges on the East River.
