Man charged with shooting toddler in Coney Island found dead

CONEY ISLAND - Two weeks after the shooting of a 19-month-old girl in Coney Island, one of the men accused in the crime was found dead on Mermaid Avenue.

Police arrived at the scene yesterday to find Vincent Carmona, 24, shot three times in broad daylight.

Carmona was transported to Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Residents of the area say they are fearful of the increased violence in their neighborhood and want something done about it.

As of now, police have not released information regarding who might have shot Carmona.
