BROOKLYN - Police say a man was convicted in the rape of a woman as she tried to leave her Brooklyn apartment building in 2008.

Ralph Dimassi was convicted of first-degree rape and robbery, as well as three other charges. Police say Dimassi hit the victim from behind with a screwdriver as she left for work, then dragged her to a storage room to rape and rob her.

Dimassi faces a maximum sentence of 82 years in prison. He'll be sentenced June 14.
