Man critical after Coney Island stabbing

CONEY ISLAND - A man is in critical condition after an early morning stabbing in Coney Island.

Police say the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. near the corner of Surf and Stillwell avenues. They say a 49-year-old man was stabbed in the back and leg.

Officers say they found him in the Stillwell Avenue subway station. He was transported to Lutheran Hospital.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
