Man fatally struck by car on Belt Parkway

A man is dead after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the Belt Parkway. Police say the 53-year-old victim was walking

GRAVESEND - A man is dead after he was struck by a car while trying to cross the Belt Parkway.

Police say the 53-year-old victim was walking near the intersection with the Bay Parkway when a 45-year-old man driving a Nissan Altima struck him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver stayed at the crash site.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
