Man found guilty in 2015 slaying of NYPD officer

The man accused of fatally shooting a police officer in East Harlem was convicted by a jury on Monday.

Tyrone Howard was found guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder, in the slaying of NYPD Detective Randolph Holder.

NEW YORK - The man accused of fatally shooting a police officer in East Harlem was convicted by a jury on Monday.

Tyrone Howard, 32, was found guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder, in the slaying of NYPD Detective Randolph Holder.

Holder had chased Howard, who was a suspect in a robbery, down the FDR Drive in October 2015. Howard was on a stolen bike when he suddenly stopped and fired his weapon at Holder, striking him in the head.

Holder was a third-generation police officer.
