A man is in the hospital after a fire Saturday on Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control

BROOKLYN - A man was hospitalized this evening after being injured in a fire on Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in just over five minutes, but not before Michael Hutchinson was badly burned.

Hutchinson was taken to Cornell Hospital with serious burns over 80 percent of his body.

Authorities say Hutchinson was in bed when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
