BROOKLYN - Police say they are investigating a shooting that occurred on Vermont Street at around 5:30 a.m. this morning.

Police say a man was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the shoulder. The victim is now in stable condition, officials say.

According to police, gunfire broke out on Vermont Street and the victim ended up at Dumont and Pennsylvania avenues.
