Man indicted in Bed-Stuy salon shooting

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn man was indicted today in a shooting at a Bedford-Stuyvesant hair salon.Police say 20-year-old Winston Cox attempted to rob a hair salon on Franklin Avenue last month, but was stopped by off-duty Detective Feris Jones. She was getting her hair done at the time. When Jones identified herself as a police officer, Cox opened fire, authorities say. Jones returned fire, striking the suspect in the hand. Cox fled the scene, but was arrested a few days later.Cox was charged with attempted murder and robbery charges. He faces up to 40 years behind bars.
