BROOKLYN - Police are investigating an early morning shooting outside of a Greek diner in Brooklyn that left one man dead.

Investigators say it happened outside of the Paphos Diner on Fulton Street at around 4 a.m. Maria Santiago, a waitress at the restaurant, says the 23-year-old victim came in to get something to eat and got into an altercation with another patron.

She says the victim and the person he was arguing with were kicked out of the diner. She heard gunfire outside shortly after and ran outside to find the man on the ground with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

Police have not named any suspects but say the investigation is ongoing.
