Man opens fire in 13th Avenue bank

(08/30/10) BROOKLYN - Police say they have arrested a man who attempted to rob a bank and then led cops on a wild chase.

Cops say the man entered the Apple Bank on 13th Avenue and opened fire. According to officials, when the plexiglass windows protected tellers, the man realized he wasn't going to get any cash and took off.

Police pursued him and as he fled, they say he took a woman off the street hostage. Cops say he later let her go and found him in a yard, where he was arrested. No injuries were reported.

It is not yet known if he has been charged.
