Man pulled to safety during Verrazano Bridge rescue

BROOKLYN - Authorities made a daring rescue on the Verrazano Bridge Monday and it was all caught on tape.

According to police, a man in his 30s was threatening to jump and did not appear to speak English. They say a Cantonese-speaking officer was able to step in, helping the Emergency Service Unit (ESU) and hostage negotiators talk him down.

The man was taken to Staten Island University Hospital and is expected to be OK.
